A hardbait that moves like a living worm: the Daiwa Trout Twig, known in Japan as "Masu no Koeda", transfers the movement of an earthworm to a hard lure. At 6 cm long and weighing just 1.5 g, this trout bait is made for the Trout Area, where wary trout have long since seen the usual lures.

How the Worm Action Is Created

The worm action comes from the diving lip sitting on top, so the lure swims with the lip facing upwards. Even on a slow retrieve, it makes the head roll and wobble. This movement is passed through a special connecting line to the four-part jointed body. The result is a soft, snaking motion more reminiscent of a soft bait than a classic trout hardbait.

Fishing It Correctly at the Trout Lake

Draw the lure slowly through the water at your feet to find the ideal speed. Retrieving too fast will make it spin. Then cast out and wind in steadily at exactly that speed. Short twitches also make the lure jerk as if a worm were curling up.

A Hook for Tentative Bites

According to the manufacturer, the hook with SaqSas coating penetrates up to 40% better than conventionally coated hooks, around 20% on average. This helps you convert even tentative bites. A double split ring reduces lost fish during the fight.
