Body Shape and Material
The wide body is modelled on a baitfish. Pronounced ribs and the tapering tail set it apart from many other pintail lures and make it compatible with almost any rig. The ultra-soft compound with 25% salt content allows good casting distance, even without additional weight, and ensures a natural fall.
Rigged Horizontally: Gliding and Darting
Rigged flat on a weightless offset hook, the Deathadder sinks extremely slowly, builds noticeable water resistance and darts sharply to the side when twitched. Hopped along the bottom on a jig head or rubber jig, it displaces plenty of water and moves with a lazy action. This very presentation also makes it a strong choice among zander lures.
Rigged Vertically: Wobbling and Swimming
Rigged vertically on a weightless offset hook, the lure wobbles as it sinks. As a trailer on a jig head, rubber jig or spinnerbait, it swims with a fine, quivering action like a real baitfish. A deep groove in the body improves hook-up rates and weedlessness with vertical offset rigs such as the Texas rig.
One Lure for Many Rigs
Alongside weightless offset rigs, jig heads and Texas rigs, the Deps Deathadder can also be fished on a wacky rig, a drop-shot rig or as a spinnerbait trailer, making it a highly adaptable addition to your fishing lures. The wide, baitfish-inspired body with its textured surface and the sharply tapered tail create a realistic, tight vibration that makes even minnow-focused big bass strike without the slightest hesitation. The ultra-soft material with 25 % salt content provides the casting weight needed for long casts even without lead, and produces a natural, enticing fall.
Two actions through hook orientation: The Deathadder changes its action depending on how the hook is set.
Rigged horizontally, on an offset hook without weight it shows an extremely slow fall with plenty of water resistance and sharp darts when twitched; on a jig head or rubber jig it produces a sluggish, water-pushing action when bottom bumping.
Rigged vertically, it delivers a wobbling fall action on an offset hook, and on a jig head, rubber jig or as a spinnerbait trailer it swims with a fine, baitfish-like quiver.
Deep Groove: The deep hook groove along the back seats the offset hook cleanly when rigged vertically. This noticeably improves the hook-up ratio on the strike and makes the Deathadder virtually weedless on a no-sinker or Texas rig.
Universally usable: Since 2001 the Deathadder has accounted for a barely countable number of big bass and has redefined the soft plastic lure segment.
