Illex Bling 55 Crankbait

Illex Bling 55: Flatside Crankbait with Light Reflection for Perch, Zander and Chub

The Illex Bling 55 is a compact flatside crankbait that combines three triggers found in few fishing lures of this size: strong light reflection, high frequency vibration and a notably lively action. Exactly this combination provokes reaction strikes when predators are active but no longer respond to lures with a uniform action.

Flank, Action and Pressure Wave

The flattened profile reflects light from almost every angle. This keeps the Illex lure visible in coloured water or diffuse light. The tight, fast action with its pronounced rolling movement also creates a pressure wave that draws fish in through the lateral line. As a perch crankbait, the Bling 55 shows its strengths along rock armour, sheet piling and weed edges, and as a zander lure in shallow open water at dusk. For chub in flowing river stretches it is a reliable choice as well.

Casting Distance through Magnetic Weight Transfer

The magnetic weight transfer system shifts the mass to the rear during the cast and delivers stable, long casts even with light tackle and into a headwind. On impact the weight returns to its starting position and the lure runs true from the very first turn of the handle. That saves you the first few metres of the retrieve and increases the number of productive casts per hour on the water.

Data and Retrieve

At 5c5 cm in length, 9.3 g in weight and a running depth of 1.8 to 2 m, the floating crankbait covers the zone where perch hunt in summer and autumn. It comes fitted with ST36BC trebles in sizes 5 and 4. A brisk, steady retrieve with short pauses has proven itself: on the pause the lure rises and shows its reflective flank, which often triggers the bite.
