The Illex Flat DD Squirrel 79 SP is a versatile lure for medium water depths.
It combines the characteristics of a long-bill minnow with those of a flat-sided crankbait. This hybrid design gives the 79 mm lure striking volume, as well as flat sides that emit intense light reflections with every movement. Designed for larger predatory fish, it weighs 18.3 g.
The long diving blade quickly guides the lure to depths between 1 and 2 metres. There, the lure's floating behaviour is most effective: targeted pauses allow it to remain seductively suspended in the water column. This feature makes it particularly effective when retrieved slowly when predatory fish are sluggish.
The pronounced wobbling action creates visual and hydrodynamic stimuli. This lure performs best when retrieved continuously with intermittent stop-and-go pauses. Its responsiveness to rod impulses provokes additional aggressive attacks.
