Bullseye PelaJerk Baitcasting Rod: built for open water
Photo-realistic sonar and fishing from a boat, kayak or belly boat have made pelagic angling popular. For a long time there was no suitable tackle for it, so you always had to settle for a compromise. This is exactly where the Bullseye PelaJerk comes in. On top of that, jerkbait fishing is seeing a noticeable revival thanks to YouTube formats such as "Fly vs. Jerk" and "Pikefight".
A sensitive tip for clean lure control
The finely tuned tip is the heart of this baitcasting rod. It lets you work even lighter jerkbaits cleanly and under full control, instead of ripping the lure roughly through the water as with the very stiff rods of older designs. In practice this means far fewer missed takes, as the lure is not pushed straight out of the fish's mouth on the bite. The PelaJerk concept is widely copied by now and still counts as the benchmark on the scene.
Components you feel in the fight
Every Bullseye baitcasting rod in this series is built around a very slim Lotus-Woven-Composite blank. The Fuji ECSM reel seat sits directly on the blank and passes every contact straight to your hand. Added to this are Fuji K-Guides with Alconite inserts, a hook keeper and a deliberately short grip for better handling. The balance is right without any counterweight in the butt. For transport you split the rod in the handle section.
Three models for every lure size
The 198 15-65 g is the lightest version with a 36 ton blank, 10+1 guides and a weight of 145 g, and suits pelagic fishing for zander with smaller lures. The 198 20-85 g model weighs 171 g, uses a 40 ton blank with 9+1 guides and covers classic jerkbaits. The C 198 40-160 g works with a stiffer tip and a weight of 198 g, so you can control large lures safely even in strong current.
