Okuma Zyros Carbon Spinning Reel - light, rugged and versatile
With the Okuma Zyros spinning reel, you get a fishing reel that brings together modern Okuma technologies in an exceptionally light body. The rigid C-40X carbon body, including side plates and rotor, keeps the weight low without sacrificing stability. As a result, this spinning reel sits comfortably in your hand even after hours on the water and is equally at home in both freshwater and saltwater.
Refined engineering for a smooth retrieve
The Flite Gear, with a forged and machined aluminum drive gear, forms the heart of this reel and delivers a smooth retrieve. Combined with the Flite Drive system and the Gearing Stabilization System (GSS), the handle and gears run evenly and with minimal friction. A dual-supported pinion adds further smoothness, while seven high-quality, grease-packed bearings (6HPB+1RB) ensure a durable and silky-smooth action.
Reliable drag and clever protection
The multi-disc carbonite drag system transfers braking power smoothly and with fine adjustability. The Hydro Block II housing effectively shields the internals against water intrusion. The Cyclonic Flow Rotor (CFR) technology optimizes line lay, while the Even Flow Roller system EFR-II with DLC coating guides the line gently.

Flite Gear
Aluminum forged machined drive gear offers not only exceptional strength but also maintain a lightweight profile, providing Zyros with the most strong gear system.
Flite Drive
In standard reels, when the main shaft is moved up and down, a large area of friction is generated with the inner hole of the pinion gear, which causes you to feel resistance when turning. To reduce drag and achieve the lightness of rotation, we hollowed out the center of the pinion gear to reduce friction with the shaft. This change helps create a zero inertia start up and an incredibly light feel when turning the handle.
Gearing Stabilization System (GSS)
Ultimate pinion gear support with ball bearings from top to bottom offers unparalleled stability and durability.
Multi Disc Carbon Fiber Drag System
Housed in the spool is the multi-disc, carbon fiber drag system with hydro-block gasket keeping your drags dry and running smooth.
