Mechanical Stabilisation System (MSS)The mechanical stabilisation system (MSS) for the spinning reel is a new, exclusive technical design from Okuma. The carbon plates increase stability and help eliminate vibrations. The integrated MSS makes the reel run perfectly mechanically.
Dual Force Drag SystemDFD contains both surfaces of the spool to maximise high drag pressure, efficiency and overall smoothness. Mounted on top of the spool and protected by the Hydro Block system is a multi-disc felt braking system that works in conjunction with a secondary braking system mounted below the spool. Equal pressure is applied to both surfaces of the spool for maximum stability and significantly higher drag performance compared to conventional single brake systems.
Knurled coil designThe knurled tape on the spool shaft increases friction and provides a locking point for the braid, eliminating slippage and the need for support, resulting in maximum line capacity.
AlumiLite Construction (ALC)Rigid die-cast aluminium body, side plate and rotor: AlumiLite Construction uses Okuma's rigid aluminium body technology. Alum frames are stronger and stiffer, withstanding more pressure and torque than traditional graphite frames. These lightweight die-cast aluminium frames offer more precise tolerances for accurate gear alignment, maximum stability and ultimate durability.
Aluminium material with strong anti-corrosion functionThe unique feature of its anti-corrosion property is exceptionally good and with a resistance of 50% stronger than the general material on the market.
High performance bearing (HPB)6 high performance ball bearings give the Azores excellent smoothness and reliability in saltwater . The balls used in the HPBs are made of the same high-quality stainless steel material as the bearing housing.
Machine-cut aluminium handleRigid, machine-cut aluminium handle increases launching power and performance. The ergonomic oval handle knob provides comfort for all fishing conditions.
Oversized main shaftA thicker main shaft and robust metal bushing withstand three times the axial impact pressure of conventional designs.
Dual Anti-Reverse-SystemThe Azores are equipped with the proven Quick Set- Okuma and a Multi-Stop backstop system, which provides more durability and reliability in all fishing conditions.
Pinion with 2 ball bearingsAn additional bearing supports the pinion for improved gear engagement and smooth power transmission under high pressure.
