With the 17 Prorex LT D series DAIWA presents a new generation of reels the LT concept enables the design of ultra-lightweight reels, which are more durable and stronger than ever before. The Zaion reel body cares for an ultra-safe housing of the drive and thus guarantees permanently silky-smooth running. The new LT concept allows a drastic reduction regarding weight while increasing the power and robustness at the same time. The 17 Prorex LT 2500D only weighs marvelous 175g and thus is among the most lightweight reels on this planet! The milled Tough Digigear II is made in Japan and offers extreme durability and optimized running.
Thanks to the high precision also thin braided lines are perfectly wrapped on the spool, enabling optimized casting performance. The ATD drag cares for an instant working of the drag and offers optimum drag power.

CNC milled digitally developed power gear for highest strains. The precision of the gear teeth is tenfold elevated compared to conventional gears.
Shielded for extra protection. Unlike ordinary "corrosion resistant" bearings with un unprotected open race, Daiwa's CRBB ball bearings are shielded to seal out sand, fine grit, salt crystals and other abrasives for even longer life. CRBB ball bearings feature an 12 times higher corrosion resistance than usual ball bearings.
Especially for our reels with oil barrier (Mag Sealed reels) mechanism we have developed a complete new Air Rotor. So the enormous strains, which affect the rotor via the line and the line roller are better distributed. This causes less pressure on the single parts of the rotor. The new rotor is 15% more light weighted than usual rotors of the same material - this reduces vibrations and enhances the rotational balance thanks to a very low centre of gravity.
Daiwa's innovative bail design featuring a hollow tubular stainless steel bail for maximium rigidity and strength with minimum weight. Due to the smooth, protrusion-free design of the Air Bail®, even loose line common after a cast slides easily down the bail onto the line roller as the reel is turned, without snagging or hanging up.
